Learn to identify real Crocs sandals

More and more fake Crocs are being sold on the black market with false claims of marked down prices.

The shoe which is commonly-worn among men, women and children is best known for its signature design, the "Beach".

Sellers have abused claims from previous press by offering "real Crocs" at marked down prices under the false allegation that Crocs was facing bankruptcy.

Crocs would like to warn consumers not to be deceived by those offering counterfeit products and learn to identify real Crocs products by using these simple guidelines:

1. Crocs' proprietary materials Croslite is only available through Crocs. It is much softer, lighter and offers better cushioned support than regular plastics or rubbers that are often used in counterfeits. If you are a Crocs lover, you should be able to feel the difference and tell almost immediately upon wearing a fake.

2. Every pair of Crocs has its own unique barcode/serial number on the tag. If you see the same serial number on the tags of other shoes of a different model, then you definitely have an imitation in your hands.

3. Check the retailers selling Crocs footwear. Crocs concept stores are listed in the official website at www.crocs.com.sg. Crocs can only ensure that stores listed on the website sell genuine Crocs shoes.

4. Check the website product listing and compare the available designs and colors. If you see a shoe with the brand Crocs(TM) in a design or color that is not shown on the website, then it is not an authentic Crocs product.

Customers may contact Crocs through www.crocs.com.sg if they have further enquiries regarding the above guidelines and the availability of genuine Crocs products in Singapore.

Crocs offers more than 120 styles of casual, comfortable footwear, including sandals, boots, heels, wedges and flats, especially designed to help people who have foot or back problems.

readers' comments
One should never copromise price for quality or safety, especially of children. I have seen Straits Times newspaper ads on warehouse sale of Crocs at marked prices. If they are fakes, why doesn't the company go after them to protect the consumers? Do not agree that all Crocs design are UGLY - they are some very sporty and elegant ones for ladies at Vivo and Plaza Singapura:)

who cares about the real thing? it's over-priced and it's ugly. at least the counterfeit ones are xx times cheaper than the genuine one. that justifies why I should buy an ugly (but comfortable) pair of sandals.
